Cauliflower in batter + nutmeg

I bought cauliflower again. Nice, full, fresh, white, crisp...boring, boring and boring. I can eat it no problem once or twice in a row. Third time...I don't think so. I should have thought about it when at the market. But a little voice was telling me: eat more cabbage, eat more cabbage.

Beans never tasted better. I mean, made by me. I'm addicted. I think it's the cooking that makes the beans so unattractive at times, that heavy smell in the house. I didn't know that you can make something out of just-soaked legumes. Revelation!

Potatoes...mhhh, good for any season. Here, in the country of meat and potatoes..and a salad on the side, a household can't survive without them. My dad always longs for them...when rice or pasta are served instead. Nothing else can qualify as a valuable substitute, despite my mom's effort. And he is always happy when called to the kitchen to mash his favorite ziemniaczki. That's his job.

Sweet or salty ricotta triangles

I'm always curious about new pastry dough recipes, but when it's got cheese, I have to try it. I buy ricotta regularly now, because when I don't, it seems like everything I want to make calls for it. Italian recipes like the white "re-cooked" (ri-cotta) cheese.

Parmesan frollinis

Yeah, I made hearts. But they are not sweet, or just as sweet as Parmesan is. I always have some Parmesan in the house. Penne with Parmesan and black paper is one of my favorite pastas. I weighted the small piece of the cheese in the fridge: perfect, exactly 100g (3.5oz). 

Grissini
